LINA RESTREPO-PLAZA

Professor at Universidad Europea de Valencia

I am a behavioral scientist committed to creating a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable world. My work centers on understanding and driving behavioral change in critical areas such as violence, discrimination, sexual harassment, and climate action. I also explore how exposure to conflict shapes human behavior, how political institutions are built, and what conditions enable forgiveness and reconciliation.

I am currently based at the Universidad Europea de Valencia, a dynamic and expanding private university, and serve as a fellow at the Behavioral Economics Institute, where I contribute to cutting-edge research and interdisciplinary collaborations.

Over the years, I have worked with leading global institutions—including the World Bank, ILO, USAID, the Colombian Central Bank, and the Council of Europe—as well as grassroots NGOs and public agencies. These partnerships aim to apply behavioral insights to improve policy design, strengthen institutions, and tackle urgent social challenges.

For me, behavioral science is more than a discipline—it's a powerful tool for transformation. It informs my research, fuels my teaching, and drives my mission: to bridge knowledge and practice in the pursuit of meaningful social change.
